NEXT MARKET: May 18, 2024
Support debuting local 2SLGBTQIA+ and BIPOC artisans and makers in Western MA

We are a fledgling pop-up market centering 2SLGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and emerging artisans and makers exploring their craft in Western MA. We believe there is always room for more spaces to support the financial success of makers in our community. Our goal is to provide the additional support we’ve been looking for in preparing for a craft or maker market as a newbie.

Important Event Info

PARKING
Thankfully, street and lot parking in Florence is free, but we do encourage carpooling whenever possible. The Civic Center has a medium sized lot and it will be cleared for attendees. There are PVTA bus stops very close: Stop 204 - Meadow/Main (R42/R44) and Stop 203 - Main/Maple (R44).

FOOD
We’re encouraging you to arrive hungry! Celebrate Asian American, Native Hawai’ian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month with us by supporting the amazing Ginger Love Cafe, who will offer delicious Filipino street food in the parking lot. The Zen Frog Cafe will also be back with seriously great coffee and delectable treats from Lemon Bakery.

On-Site Offerings

ART PROJECTS
We’re excited to welcome Resilient Community Arts, who will host a bandana-dyeing booth with a sliding pay scale. Make your own custom creation to commemorate the day!

Participate in our Creative Community Altar for Peace – we encourage you to bring items, art, or messages to leave as a symbol of our commitment to peace and speaking out against genocide across the world, in places like Gaza, Sudan, Nigeria, Myanmar, Syria, Bangladesh, India, and sadly, many, many more. We will have action information on hand and are compiling a list of humanitarian organizations people can donate to. Please DM us with your suggestions. If you’d like to contribute now, we suggest checking out Middle East Children’s Alliance, the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, or Helping Hand for Relief and Development.

Beth Baron, SEP, LMT, CPT-RES, will offer three 20-minute sessions sharing somatic skills for centering in the midst of chaos at 2P, 2:30P, and 3P on the south lawn near the big tent.

Community Care

MASKING
K95 masks (or better) are required inside; masking outside is highly encouraged as a method of radical community care. We will have a limited number of masks on hand! If it’s raining, masks will also be required under the large outdoor tent.

ENVIRONMENT
There is a mid-size paved parking lot, which will be partially occupied by a food truck and a wheelchair-accessible porta-potty. The indoor space has ramp access with a wraparound porch. Indoors may be loud - windows will be open as weather permits. The outdoor space is a grass lawn that is fairly flat with some tree roots. The large outdoor tent has tie-downs that extend about 4-feet from the corners. We will be spot-checking aisle width to ensure shopability.
