My prints include unique views of places near Northampton and the Northeast that you will likely recognize, and places far from home that you may not.
Salted Snail Studio is the work of queer printmaker and various-media-dabbler, Jasper Alexander. His prints contain an eerie sentimentality inspired by internal dialogs, external dialogs, personifications of ecological phenomena, folk tales, stories told over dim light, and the mundane sort of magic interwoven into all of our hum-drum lives.
Jasper prints his blocks by hand onto traditional papers as well as gently-worn clothing, vintage table linens, and various scrap fabrics stitched-up-by-hand into accessories and art objects that are perfect for gifting (or coveting.)
Using her decades of sewing skills, Kathleen creates hand embroidered jewelry and hats using upcycled materials. Each piece is one of a kind and saves fabric and fibers from the landfill.
